Dear Jackie, It sounds as if your pup may have a slight problem as dogs do not normally pass faeces that often. Most adults dogs pass faeces2-3 times a day, depending on their diet, pups will defaecate about 4-5 times a day. It is true that some cereal-based complete diets do produce more faeces than high protein-based foods. But it should be dry and well formed faeces, so it is possible that your pup is prone to making softfaeces. He may have a sensitive gut or need a different type of food. Eukanuba are a very good producer of dry dog food and he would probably be worse on tinned food { the dry food is better for their teeth anyway } .Eukanuba do various types of dry dog food, there may be one that is more suited to him, or a different make may suit him better. Tell you vet about his faeces and they can advise you what would be the best food to try him on, as they know him.
